Our Delivery & Installation Options

We offer many different options to fulfill your order. We have listed all the types of services below and what to expect. You can always expect a professional and reliable service from R.W. McDonald & Sons.

1. Standard Delivery

What to Expect:

Our crew will drop off your product(s) to your desired location outside or inside of your residence/business (entryway steps are included). Our crew will remove the exterior packaging only on request while visually inspecting for any hidden cosmetic damage.

  • Deliver and set up your new appliance in your existing compatible space
  • Remove and discard all packaging
  • Connect the appliance to your existing, code approved utilities
  • Level and test the item
  • Uninstall and haul away the existing like-appliance

Does not Include:

  • Any accessories/install parts required for self-installation

Our Crew Cannot:

  • Lift or hoist products through windows, over banisters, countertops or obstructions
  • Perform modifications to your property to accommodate the fit of the appliance
  • Remove their shoes (Please note: For safety precautions, delivery drivers’ shoes must be kept on at all times.)

2. Standard Installation

What to Expect:

Our crew will:

  • Deliver and set up your new appliance in your existing compatible space
  • Remove and discard all packaging
  • Supply and attach any new, required standard install parts per manufacturer guidelines
  • Connect the appliance to your existing, code approved utilities
  • Level and test the item
  • Uninstall and haul away of the existing like-appliance

Included Services:

Our crew will inspect the installation work area prior to beginning installation. They will also make sure to identify additional work or special parts needed and review any additional costs prior to performing the installation.

Does not Include:

  • Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work
  • Moving old appliances up/down full flights of stairs

3. Pro-Delivery

What to Expect:

  • Our crew will drop off your product (all oversized, commercial, and pro-style appliances) to your desired location outside or inside of your residence/business (entryway steps are included). Our crew will remove the exterior packaging only on request while visually inspecting for any hidden cosmetic damage.
  • This service requires a special crew, typically with three or more crew members to perform.

4. Pro-Installation

What to Expect:

Our crew will:

  • Deliver and set up your new appliance in your existing compatible space
  • Remove and discard all packaging
  • Supply and attach any new, required standard install parts per manufacturer guidelines
  • Connect the appliance to your existing, code approved utilities
  • Level and test the item
  • Uninstall and haul away the existing like-appliance

Included Services:

Our crew will inspect the installation work area prior to beginning installation. They will also make sure to identify additional work or special parts needed and review any additional costs prior to performing the installation.

Does not Include:

  • Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or HVAC work

5. Custom Installation

If the new appliance you purchased is not compatible with your existing space, R.W. McDonald & Sons. will assist in recommending and scheduling a trusted third-party contractor to perform the necessary work and install the new appliance. The contractor will provide you with a custom estimate prior to any work being performed.

6. Haul Away

What to Expect:

When your new appliance is delivered, R.W. McDonald & Sons can haul away your old like-appliance OR move it to another room of your choice on the same level. We will ensure the old appliance is properly and safely recycled by our licensed third-party partners. If you choose Standard Delivery and purchase our Haul Away service, please make sure your old appliance is uninstalled and fully disconnected from any power or water source prior to our arrival.

We will Not:

  • Haul away OR move items that are contaminated, infested, or pose a risk to our crew’s safety
  • Relocate the old appliance to a new address
  • Hook up/install the old appliance at a different location
  • Modify your old appliance or remove doors/railings to fit the old appliance outside or into another room
  • Haul away more units than what is being delivered (unless purchased for an additional charge)

7. In-Home Measurement Consultation

If you need assistance in finding the right appliance for your existing space, R.W. McDonald & Sons can perform an in-home consultation prior to you buying a new appliance. We will schedule an appointment to survey your space, giving you the peace of mind of buying an appliance that you know will work in your space.

8. Appliance Modifications

If the appliance you purchased needs a modification to work properly in your setting, we will modify the appliance (if capable) at our warehouse prior to delivery. This includes door swing reversals, natural gas to LP conversions and side-venting dryers.

*For deliveries further than 25 miles from your nearest R.W. McDonald & Sons showroom, a mileage fee may be required depending on the distance and order size. We offer all of our delivery and install services up to 50 miles from our warehouse located in Pittsburgh Pa. We offer drop off delivery further away.
